“Where Utah Learns to Ski and Ride!”

 About Us

Discover why Brighton is known as the place where Utah learns to ski and ride, and keeps on learning! With over 180 trained instructors, we teach all ages and abilities from “never-evers” to experts. Our Snowsports School offers a variety of lessons and programs for skiers, boarders and telemarkers, from multi-week locals classes for kids, to specialty clinics for adults such as women’s only clinics and senior lessons. And, Brighton has recently partnered with the National Ability Center to teach adaptive skiing.

Did you know that Brighton was the first snow sports school in Utah to embrace snowboarding? We teach boarders of any age!

Who Are We?

We are a group of dedicated instructors and staff who all share the same goal: we are passionate about teaching the sport we love! We come from a variety of professions, from full-time snow sports instructors to university professors, realtors and lawyers, to outdoor recreation professionals, landscapers, engineers and doctors – you name it, we’re here at Brighton and ready to teach! A third of our instructors have been at Brighton for over ten years with sixty percent over five years. We have a thirty-plus- year veteran on staff, three generations of family members, as well as many second generations teaching together. In fact, some of us learned to ski at Brighton as kids and are now instructors. While most of us are locals, a few come up from Texas and Florida to pass on their skills. In addition, we have 80 enthusiastic teens working as peer instructors and Little Ripper assistants to help your kids’ ski instructors in group lessons. All of us in the Snowsports School look forward to sharing our excitement with you!

Brighton has been teaching students of all levels for over sixty-five years

Why Are We Unique?

Brighton takes a flexible and holistic approach to teaching skiing and boarding. We understand that any type of sport combines technical skill with the right mindset and positive mental attitude. To that end, we provide our staff with workshops from experts in the field of sports psychology on how to incorporate the mind/body approach in all Brighton lessons to increase confidence and competence on the slopes. On the technical side, daily on-snow training takes place for our instructors. Our goal is to provide the most positive and well-rounded on-snow experience for all students, from beginners to advanced.

We want you to share our passion!
