Summer at Brighton

Since pioneer days, young and old alike have enjoyed their summers at Brighton. Hiking, biking, fishing, or just getting out of the city for lunch are just some of the activities you can enjoy in the summer at Brighton.

Brighton lies within national forest lands, so summers are for hiking up to mountain lakes or to the ridge tops for stupendous views. Or, have a picnic at a streamside table, or fish for trout in nearby Silver Lake. Watch for the locals: the deer, moose, marmots, and the fat little Uintah ground squirrels we call “potguts.

When the pioneers settled into the Salt Lake Valley they hitched their wagons and came up to Brighton to enjoy the cool mountain air and to hold picnics and celebrations. Brighton summers are still that way – easy and laid back.
